About Me

Nice to meet you

"My personal drive comes from my own stress management and burnout journey."

Following university, I had “made it” as a technology consultant working for a top 4 corporate company. I was ready for the challenge and wanted to take on the hard work that I felt was necessary for me to be recognised as a success. During my time with the firm, I felt privileged to work with unbelievable global clients and teams to deliver complex, large-scale technology programmes.

Within such an environment you are exposed to demanding conditions that if not managed correctly, can lead to enormous stress.

Over the six years with the firm, I met my goals by progressing through the grades and managing delivery teams, but with this experience came a huge amount of pressure. During this time, I had made a move to London and started to experience the age-old juggling act of trying to manage a social life, wanting to travel, stay lean, healthy and fit, work towards a promotion, and the list goes on..

Even before starting my consulting career and attending University, I had significant stress in my life that I put to one side for years to push ahead. In my mum's 20s, she was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma.

The radiation treatment that she received at the time caused damage to her surrounding organs and as a result, this caused heart failure.

The treatment saved her life at that time but caused a slow deterioration over the years that sadly led to her passing in May’2020.

During this time whilst juggling several areas of personal stress alongside working hard to progress in my career, I started to experience several symptoms.

This included, significant hair loss, frequent headaches, teeth grinding, weight struggles, lack of concentration, bleeding gums, immediate illness as soon as I went on holiday, and skin issues that resulted in one client asking me to leave their office as it "looked painful". All of these symptoms I ignored and explained away at the time.

For as long as I can remember, I had always been interested in self-development and decided alongside working full-time as a consultant, I wanted to gain a professional coaching qualification. This proved to be the perfect outlet for me to learn and exercise this passion and interest. My qualification gave me fantastic knowledge and insight into how personality, values and beliefs ultimately impact our decisions, habits and behaviours. One of the biggest light bulb moments for me was understanding that due to my very nature I was predisposing myself to extreme stress and burnout.

Being a natural people-pleaser, high achiever and hard worker meant that I would naturally put others' needs before my own. I started to recognise that my symptoms resulted from sustained stress that had not been correctly managed. I was completely burnout and knew I needed to make a change.

I started to study stress management and burnout to develop approaches that were right for me.

Years later, I am now a full-time burnout coach. I am perusing my passion by working with clients to assess their unique experiences of stress and burnout. With each client, we work together to develop an individualised approach to support your needs.

As cliche as it might sound, life is short and you should do all that you can to be fulfilled. If stress and burnout take this away from you, do not ignore this.

I will not promise to eradicate all of your life's stress; instead, we will work together to help you build and design your version of a happy and successful life that is not held back by stress or burnout.
